HELPING GIVE HOPE
Ways We Help
Every year Fleury Charitable Organization selects a new cause important to our community and the well-being of those that need help. We focus our support and fundraising activities to these causes in order to provide both monetary assistance as well as increase the public's understanding of why their cause is important.
Our Cause For 2023
Operation At Ease takes dogs from shelters, pairs them with deserving veterans and first responders and provides a free guided training program for post traumatic stress and light mobility service dogs. Obedience skills and task training are held in small group classes of two to four teams to ensure optimal learning through one on one instruction. We also work throughout the Capital District making sure our teams know the proper way to utilize the tasks taught in real life situations; as well as have the confidence, knowledge and ability to advocate for themselves when needed.
What Operation At Ease Means To Us
"As the owners of Fleury Risk Management who insure hundreds of fire, police, and ambulance organizations, we see the effects that stress and trauma have on our first responder communities. Sometimes we forget that through their bravery and selflessness that they are still human beings in which repeated or significant emotional traumas can have a lasting effect. This is also true of our service veterans that may have a difficult time coping with their experiences when they return home. Having an organization that identifies this need and works selflessly to provide these men and women an outlet to help them heal their trauma is a cause our foundation is proud to support.
After the sudden passing of our previous rescue dog Bear, we decided it was time to help another animal and welcome her to our family. We adopted Daisy as a rescue dog and started her with training classes. That is where we learned of Joni and her team and the wonderful work they do. When selecting a charity for 2023 to support, they were the first to come to mind. Join us in helping Operation At Ease and all of the men, women, and animals they support and care for."
